engine swap
does anyone know if i can replace a 1999 esteem 1.6 litre engine wiyh a 1997 1.6 litre esteem engine .the 1997 has a distributor on engine and the 1999 has a different trype of distributor on it will a swap work ?

No.
The ECU will not allow the swap (won't run). The engine needs to be a '99 thru '01 1.6L. Good luck.
