04 PI Crown Vic

I just got a 04 p71 interceptor. The stock radio looks to be a double din. I was wondering if anyone has tried putting a double din indash cd/dvd player in one? Wondering if it would fit? I went to crutchfield.com and there thing says that it wont....just wondering if anyone has had this trouble.
