86 monte stumbles and dies.
The car is an 86 monte carlo, 4.3 TBI. I figured the Nonspecific section would be a good place to post this since the advice I'm looking for should apply to all GM TBI vehicles.
When driving, particularly at lower speeds, the car wants to stumble and even die occasionally. When it starts to act like it is going to die I hit the gas pedal a little but it is not very responsive to that. Any ideas on what could be causing this? |

Re: 86 monte stumbles and dies.
Alot of things could be wrong with a 22 year old vehicle.
All ignition parts includeing spark advance worn dist, etc. Worn fuel system parts includeing throttle body, injectors and fuel pump/filter. Need to investigate any and everything. |

Re: 86 monte stumbles and dies.
I'd test the fuel pressure. That year may require an adapter installed at the fuel filter to provide a test port, since many of the early TBIs had no Schrader valve for a pressure test.
