99 durango trans sensor code

working on a friends durango check engine light is on ,no driveability problems but this code was cleared and comes on immediately after moving vehicle the code is for "output shaft speed sensor mounted on bottom left hand side of transmission " has anyone encountered this problem and if not does anyone know how to check this sensor for replacing(spec) i had removed it and it is magnetized still is there a ohms resistance spec for this...........thankyou to all any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.......thanks again

Speed sensor should read around 2 ohms. But if the problem is intermittent, you may or may not find the problem with the ohmeter. It could also be the connection to the speed sensor, or the wiring back into the harness.

When you find the problem, please post a reply here. It seems most people don't and that doesn't help the next person with the same problem.
