Angry Heat and AC Blower Motor

I own a 89 BMW 325ix. I am having a problem with my blower motor i beleive. I went to turn my AC on yesterday and opened the vents and turned to knob to 2 and nothing happened no air was coming out of the vents.. So i turned it all the way up and it blew air out. it will only blow air out when its on max. Do you think i need a new motor? or is a wire loose?

someone people help

If the motor is going on max then it is more likely the control knob itself that is faulty. It could be the contacts on the lower settings are burnt out or worn through.
