What's the diff. between 04' GTO and Holden Manero

First off for those who don't know about this, before the 04' GTO was realeased a australian branch of GM called Holden released a car called the Monero. This is all the new GTO is. A holden Manero with GTO badges. see it at http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/...e/homepage.jsp
The Holden manero is offered with a LS1 of a S/C L67 though

Does anyone know if there is any major difference between the 2 cars?

The difference

As far as I can see the major difference is the Holden has the steering wheel on the oposite side.......

They appear to be identicle cars (except for branding and Pontiac style nose and tail facia).

Fuel tank is in a different location for better protection in accidents, as required by US crash safety regs.

not too much is different, thats why i'm not too fond of it, but take the Autocross GTO concept add a hood scoop and those changes will make it a little different and more power wouldn't hurt it either.

poo poo

Who ever allowed that to happen should be fired at Pontiac.

GM must be crazy.

Must of had something to do with the mergers that raped America for all the great logos.

Same thing happened with television and movie industry as we all saw with New Zealand winning all the awards while actors were out of work here.

Then they came here to flaunt it. A lot of people are out of work because of them.

It's called outsourcing.

They basically stole our American icon and trademark then wanted to sell it back to us.

Canadian, Aussies or Brits are now tagged as scabs.

Can't wait to see someone dump one of them into Boston Harbor.

The red coats are coming!!!!

Anyone got the cash so we could do it?
I'll video tape it.

thats a bit harsh. its simply a case of australia making a product which would be successfully marketable in the USA and the yanks wanting a piece of the action. it had nothing to do with a merger.

the americans had nothing to do with the development of the holden monaro except for the buick l67 supercharged engine (which holden modified to have strengthened internals and an eaton m90 supercharger on it) and the ls1 chevrolet engine.

you sound like a misinformed and bitter man jetweb.

the holden monaro (correct spelling) is a coupe edition of the popular family/performance car we have in australia called the holden commodore. the pontiac gto is only different to the monaro as far as its bumpers, its tail lights and headlights, its lhd instead of rhd, and the alloy rims that were available. beautiful cars those.
