Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

I'll take 14/ hour after taxes! If not then it's really like making only about 11.50. DAMN TAXES! they suck!

Hey vipey.. 7.50 that's pretty bad! You better start thinking about the future and those 10 months left you have!! Otherwise it's gonna be ROUGH!

Very true, I absolutely agree...... I can't even live on what i make.. and I can say that it's more then $10 a hour.... and not enough over here. If I made what i make here and live in Delaware... I'd be better off.... this is how i look at things

New Jersey "single" male over the age 25
1 bedroom apartment $1000.00 ( in a bad neighborhood add an additonal 300 for a nice area)
car insurance $1200.00 ( a year, multiply by 2 if you are under 25)
Gas price $2.45 a gallon ( currently) based on a 11.5 gallon fill up @ 6 times a month.

So in a given year to live over here on your own you will spend an estimated $16000.00 a year. This doesn't include any other loans like car or student, utlities which i could not even compound to calculate and other personal costs like food, and other items. The lowest you can make around here to barely survive on your own is about $25K after taxes about $30K before taxes. SO you have to make roughly $15 an hour just to live out here. CRAZY isn't it! This is the reason why I HAVE to live the parentals.

ya im trying to get to that level to where I'm able to support myself on my own... my own car payments, my own house and utilities and rent payment

slow process, prob not happening for a good while... I was looking into colleges, I think I typed that before... not sure how much it would help

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

college helps a LOT. My friend dropped out of college and now realizes how hard it is to find a good paying job without a degree. I highly recommend at least SOME degree. Not that I'll be a millionare out of college or anything, but the MINIMUM I will be making is 30k a year... and I'll get to 50k a year in like 2 years and have the ability to get up to 100k to 200k depending on my position

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

i dunno i'd rather have an 8 hr/day desk job and get 100k a year than a 12 hour day factory job and get 30k a year

not saying there's anything wrong with either but i think meteorology is more fun than physical labor or anything else for that matter!

I'd rather still be in school with my friends! Forget work... it sucks! However though I like jobs where people don't bother me...even though I tend to be a people person I just don't want to deal with them anymore! so whether it's a physical job or a desk job.. it don't matter to me I've done both! As long as the pay is good I don't care much either way!

Oh i found this awesome job out here... pays $15 an hour to put up christmas lights for companies and whoever else wants it! Obviously a temp job...but who wouldn't like that? well except the untangling part... that's a project in itself!

hahahah . That's too funny. Looks like something that would happen to me... nah better yet my brother in law. HAHAHAH

I tried to get into the real estate thing sort of... but they didn't want me... I'm unsure why... maybe it was just the one company. Doing the house flipping though... that's some serious business! I wouldn't mind having a apart in that!
