1998 lumina thermostat location???

Ok,been digging but not finding.I see lots of luminas in here with the head gasket problems.but I am taking it one step at a time.I need to replace the thermostat first,I believe that is the culprit that caused the overheat to begin with. But I am an old school shade tree mechanic, don't know anything about these types of motors or where anything is located.give me an old chevy 350 anyday! Please don't tell me the thermostat housing is buried behind something, somewhere! I simply hate how they buried the battery in these things!
This car has 154,000 miles on it and has been very dependable, even now still runs great, sputters a bit.But maybe time to get rid of it??I really hate working on this thing.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AF. Upper radiator hose housing on the block is the thermo location. Check this link. http://autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/090...rInfoPages.htm
