1990 Trofeo Help!

Hello, hows everybody doing? I just recently got a Trofeo and I am having some problems with the car. The car's engine is running fine except the dash board is not working. The RPM and Speedometer and the blinker lights are working.. but the rest of the guages are not working. Also this car has the touch-screen computer in it. The Climate Control is not working also, whenever I turn the car on the fans are blowing but whenever the computer loads the fans stop. I dont know if anybody can help me out but its worth a try. The car been sitting around for 2 years.. so I think it might be a corroded wire. And I checked all the fuses and they are ok.

Welcome to AF. These digital clusters were problematic from day one, you could pull them out and look for bad connections, but be prepared for replacing them.

Could you explain what a digital cluster is? And if I have to replace them how much would they cost? And if possible could you tell me where I could find these clusters.

The digital cluster is what you are seeing in the instrument panel. These can be rebuilt/exchanged thru many companies. Google digital dashes.

This link will tell you how to fix the IPC Problem yourself.(www.csciltd.com/gen_iv/ipc_fix.htm). I've done it twice and it worked like a charm both times. The capacitor you need costs less than a dollar from www.digikey.com. Buy two while you are at it. You'll pay more for shippping and handling than you will pay for the parts.
