Steering Wheel Radio Controls

My controls work and function on my 03 truck, but they dont light up at night. Is this a wiring issue or how do I get them to work again? All of them dont light up, so i know it is not a blown bulb issue. By the way, this 6.6 Duramax is the frickin bomb! I just bought it, and it came with these issues.

Re: Steering Wheel Radio Controls

They may not light up. Not 100% sure though.

It may be as simple as a fuse.

Re: Steering Wheel Radio Controls

My wife's steering wheel controls in her '07 equinox are not illuminated.

I dunno if that helps, but there it is.

Re: Steering Wheel Radio Controls

They should light up on a 03, they do on my 04 and if I remember correctly, my boss back then had an 03 2500 and they did.

Re: Steering Wheel Radio Controls

i have an 03 that i've owned since new and now with 90,000 miles two of my buttons quit lighting up and i called the dealer to find out if theres bulbs that can be serviced and of course no theres not, you have to buy the whole button assembly, but to my surprise they were only $17 for one side and $18 for the other. Thats the easy part, the hard part is there is NO slack in the wires at all so it's a nightmare to pull the buttons out, unplug them and then it's even worse getting the wires plugged in, but i got it after some time and some pissin and moaning so I'm sure most others can get it
