KPGC10 2000 GT-R Skyline

Well I got this kit at least a year ago, I feel like doing something quick and basically out of the box. I will be painting this one white but with white rear flares. These only came in silver or white with black rear flares. I may add a black stripe up along one side of the roof though, what do you think?
The only other mods are the triple resin filters, silver wheel caps, gun metal valve cover and I will be doing the 'wood grain' parts of the interior in a brushed aluminium look. I will attempt to add all the engine bay wiring.
Progress so far is limited to painting the wheels, starting the interior and starting the engine. I also have the majority of the other parts painted and ready to glue to the chassis.
Thanks for looking, this will be a quick progress to fill in time before I start my Ferrari 288 GTO for the group build.

LOVE this kit. I haven't even started on mine yet and I can tell you I love it. Looks like you've got a pretty good start.

Thanks energon. It is a really well molded kit that's for sure. For body colour I will change to camel yellow with the black stripe. I worked on the engine a bit last night so will post that tomorrow if I don't work another 12 hour day

Re: KPGC10 2000 GT-R Skyline

Ok, well here is a bit more. Body primed, suspension complete, door trims done interior glued in and flocked, only the dash and console left to go. Trying a new method of wiring the engine, using some spare electricians wire, it seems very nice and you can paint it whatever colour you want, so you dont have to buy certain colour wires from aftermarket sources, I have at least 10 metres of this stuff, there is 21 copper wires running through it to give me a total of 210 metres of spark plug wire to use. It didnt cost me anything. I will also be building 2 large, heavy duty spray booths and the material is all left over from a building site I am working at, it again didn't cost me a cent.

I don't understand why this thread isn't getting more attention. It's looking great so far! Personally I think a nice set of old school JDM wheels, maybe with some stretchwalls would look pretty nice on there.

That engine really looks good with those filters. Seats look realistic also.

Re: KPGC10 2000 GT-R Skyline

Thankyou for the replies. I'm sorry I don't have better quality photos for the update, it was about 1AM when they were taken aside from the out door body shots.

mrceej - Yes you should definately get one its a great model!

energon - I don't think many people like me on here for some various reasons, and my photos are pretty crappy for the moment. I will be leaving it stock for now as I just want to get something done, I will be buying a resin SR20DET from www.partsbox.com or a Tamiya R32 and use the RB26, not sure yet but that will be later down the track and wheels will come then.

quadzero - Thanks mate, the resin filters are from www.partsbox.com. I only had semi gloss in brush form so I couldnt spray the seats. I guess they turned out ok aside from a little dust, but hey I saved $10.

Re: KPGC10 2000 GT-R Skyline

Painted the first colour coats on the body today. Will wait for it to cure before a colour sand and one last colour coat & the black stripe. I will probably have to clear it, depending on how the stripe comes out.The colour is TS-34 Camel Yellow.

Thanks for looking I hope I can get the chassis/interior done this week. The weather has stopped me from working, so I got some time to kill.
