boost gauge
Basically I put in an autometer 30/30 mechanical gauge today and it reads a max of 10psi but my stock gauge read closer to 15-17. I have it hooked up to the stock lines and it reads vac correctly and seats at 0 but only goes up to 10. This is the second gauge that I've tried so I know its not the gauge. Any ideas whats going on? Should I just run a new line out to the motor?

Re: boost gauge
Wait, so you have tried other gauges and it still only reads 10psi tops? I wouldn't trust the stocker when it comes down to it...How is the car pulling? Does it "feel" like only 10lbs? You must have a decent sized boost leak somewhere.

Re: boost gauge
Well the first guage acted weird like it never went to 0 when the car was off but I messed around with the vac line on the back of the gauge and it seemed to change. The car pulls decent, but I have a hard time believing the stock gauge is off that far. On DAB setting 0 on the stock gague was 7psi and its still 7psi on this gauge but like I said it seems like the needle gets stuck at 10psi. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the vac line and maybe I should run an all new one

Re: boost gauge
If the gauge reads anything besides "0" at any point in time then somethings up.

Re: boost gauge
well this gauge seems to be fine except for the fact its reading low boost. I'm thinking that its a problem in the line but its weird that the gauges read 7-10psi different

Re: boost gauge
If I remember correctly you can bypass the factory lines and "T" into the line comming off of the tb.

Re: boost gauge
Do you just plug the line or where can you block it off

oh ya that's right, you are still using the stock vacuum lines right?

Re: boost gauge
I'm referring to your under hood lines. Have you bypassed the solenoids?
