Very loud valves
I was noticing that while riding down the road, or even at idle..that my cams would click very loudly, not in an erratic pattern or anything that would lead me to believe that they were damaged. Maybe just out of adjustment. So I did an adjustment, properly. I set them to .007" on the exhaust and .006" on the intake. Just as the helms manual specifies, and the damn things are still loud, I can hear them all the time as im riding down the road, and at idle as well. The sound even bounces off buildings and back into the car. Its not really all THAT loud, but if the radio is off, the car is nothing but cams.
What could make it this loud? Are most B's this loud? And is there anything I can do short of throwing really thick ass oil in the engine?

Re: Very loud valves
Yes, it was stone cold (had been sitting for two days due to a shredded CV joint) and each cylinder was at TDC, checked and double checked.
oh, and my oil is 20w-50

Re: Very loud valves
I doubt it, but it could be true..you never REALLY know how many miles are on these things when they get imported. I was told 50k when I bought it, ive put almost 12k on it. Everything looked very good when I took the cover off though,
But who can really tell how much a cam has worn right?

Re: Very loud valves
Nope, not really. I was going to get 10w-30, but they were out of it, and after reading the service manual, it specified 20w-50 for my climate conditions anyway.
