1996 Buick Park Avenue question

I was looking around and i recently found a park Ave for $150, it needs an exhaust and a Peice that holds up the Tranny&Engine . I forgot what the exact name of the part was , but it is has 4 bolts. I was told by the guy that it would be an easy fix for a mechanic or sumone that knows alot about cars. So i was wondering if it was worth the work and go along and do it or just pass up on this deal...

1996 Buick Park Avenue, 3.8L V6 139.000miles in great shape inside and out....

The catch sounds like a bad subframe assembly to me. After all it does hold the engine and tranny. Either rusted out or involved in an accident?

We'll from what a friend of mines father said about the car it is more then worth it. He is a master mechanic and said it would be fixed easily with just 4 bolts it's call the (K Member) and he said from looking at it i can make prob a high profit say around $1500-2000 and i would be doing the work at his house with him helping me. I was actually thinking it could be sumthing with the sub fram but the car doesn't look like it was in any type of colistion *SP* and the paint matches from the front end throughout the car , so im hoping that it is just a nice quick fix and i found a great bargin =) but im more then sure it is what i was told and everything should be all easily put back together. But you all know how things go when you want them to go right......

It sounds like the part you mentioned "K member" and "Subframe" are one and the same. It is the part that holds/cradles the engine and autotransaxle. Subframe is the proper part name per the Mitchell Parts & Repair Guides that body shops use. Mitchell's shows around 6 hours labor time. You should be able to get a used subframe for around $75 - $150 at a salvage yard. The rest is all labor, minor parts and possible rental for the engine lift/hoist if you do not have a shop.

Of course remember Murphy's Law....."what can go wrong will go wrong". Good luck in your decision.

We'll from what my friends dad said, it should just need the four bolts and it should be fine, i mean yeah im going to have to lift the engine/tranny up and all that but that should just bolt right up and should take a few hours or so, I have also checked around and i can get that peice for aro8und $50-75 which is really pretty much where you had put the price, i will keep you and anyone else that is interested with this project updated and hopfully get a few photos of the car as soon as i can get it inside.
