do contour have timming belts?

like the japanese cars? coz I need to replace a water pump which making a noise .
do I need to replace a cam shaft seals, tensioner?
how much do the shop charge? for these ?

what engine you have would help. im assuming its an I4?

but to answer your question, I4 uses a timing belt. The V6 uses timing chains. On the V6 the waterpump runs of a serpentine belt while the waterpump on the I4 (dont quote me on this since I dont have an I4) runs off the timing belt.

water pump on zetecs is ran by serpentine.

Only zetecs have timing belt.

400$ or more to have a shop replace the belt,

All I know is a 1999 v6 its my friends car so is this used by a belt? or chain?
how many hours to change a water pump ? and how much do they cost?

its driven by a serpentine belt. Takes about 1 hour to change. New waterpump costs ~$80. Make sure you get the one with the metal impellar.

serpentine belt how to uninstall pls give me a instructions on how to unistall the belt and water pump,what is metal impellar? Thankz!
