I have a 99 Durango with 150000 plus miles. Started car and heard what sounded like an electric motor running under hood on drivers side. Turned car off and removed key to check under hood but electric motor continued to run. I determined it was the ABS module and had to disconnect the wire harness on top of unit to stop. I test drove the car and I had plenty of break but of course no ABS. Today I noticed my speedometer was not working? I believe the speedometer was working even after I disconnected the harness the night before. Anyway, minimumly I want to fix speedometer, and if replacing the module myself is possible I'd like to do that. Why does the ABS module/pump run continuously even when the engine is off and key is removed??? I would appreciate any help!!!!

Re: ABS Module running continuosly
Have you had the ABS module checked for any wheel speed sensor/error codes? A lot of the time, it'll be the rear speed sensor, which is located in the rear differential. Usually debris off the road takes them out..
