Question 1992 Cavalier, running great,but stalls.HELP!

My uncles Cavalier has a problem. What it's doing is it runs great but only for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then it stalls out. Then he has to wait about 30 minutes before it will start again. And the one time we started it up he gave it some gas and it almost stalled out but didn't that time, but then after about 2 more minutes of idleing it dies. It seeme to me that its a fuel system problem or computer problem. Could it be that the computer or a sensor is shutting off the injectors? Or possibly bad injectors or a fuel filter? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

coil packs

it runs for 2 minutes, the coil packs get hot, then it dies, you wait 30 mins for the coil packs to cool down, it starts again till they heat up again, then it dies, again

if i remember correctly, the engine wouldnt start at all with a bad crankshaft sensor, can anyone verify?
