Unhappy 99 sunfire no start..

Please help!
I have a 99 sunfire 2.2....
I went to start my car yesterday, and it just wouln't start. I have a anti theft where i have to push my defog button for it to start..problem is, usually when i push the button, you can hear it. I pushed, light came on, but no sound! someone said it could be my fuel pump, i'm not sure..has anyone had a problem with their defog not working? could it be wiring? or could it actually be the fuel pump..
thanks..

Your little defog switch could be worn out and not making the connection it should be. That button wasn't really designed for the purpose you have made for it. With your anti- theft tweaked there could be numerous things to check.
