Re: possible to delete a cat converter on my buick riv?

like install a high-flo cat? it wont help that much(you may not feel a difference in driving) but every little bit helps. you would be better off investing in a larger downpipe with the high flo cat and making the T split into a Y.(making all the pipes .5" or .75" larger all the way is a good idea too.) dont forget if you do a lot of exhaust mods you will lose low end torque at the expense of upper end hp.

its just as it sounds, cat delete. completely removing the cat from the car and replacing it with a pipe. you could try to cut it out and MIG weld a pipe in yourself but if your not a good welder then you could have leaks and thats not a good thing for a daily driver (you might not wake up at a long stop light). as long as your state doent have inspections then your fine.

if you have an ob2 car you may set a catylist code if you take off the converter.. you may also screw up the back pressure

you'll need to get an 02 emulator to stop the code from setting and with the 3.4" pulley you will have plenty of back pressure to spare.
