1994 chevy s-10 suddenly shutting off quick bursts

My chevy s-10 was running fine then it started shutting off for just 1 second then back on again. My odometer and tachometer all went down to zero when the engine shut off. Any body have an idea?

Check battery power and ground cables and conections and fuses and power feeds.
If it keeps on doing it have a look at the ignition switch power inputs and outputs.
Does a switch wiggle make any difference?

You hit it on the head. I checked the positive battery terminal and it was severely coroded ( SP) Thanks so much for the help. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will fix it.
