Anyone have a grill/brush guard on their blazer?

Im looking for pictures of how they would mount on a 1997. Ordered one, and Im not seeing how it will mount. Basically, Im looking for pics of trucks with the guard mounted or front end pics with mounting spots pointed out to me.

Thanks for any help!

Re: Anyone have a grill/brush guard on their blazer?

I have one on mine

You have to remove the Dust Shield from the underside and rebolt it back up with the Push Bar Brackets in the middle of the chassie and the Guard like a sandwich.

You really need this style on the newer body styles so you can flip it down to change the headlight bulbs.

If you get the one that hard fixes to the front you will have to R&R it or pull the battery to replace a headlight.

I can take some more detailed Pics of it if you need them, assuming you have the same style

Re: Anyone have a grill/brush guard on their blazer?

Heres a pic of the one I have, the bars arent long enough to mount up underneath the bumper to the frame. And, it doesnt look like it lines up with the bumper bolts to attach it that way.
I own a 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada, but I couldnt find any guards MADE for the Bravada, the GM dealership told me the bumpers are interchangeable, so to go ahead and get the one for a Blazer.

Re: Anyone have a grill/brush guard on their blazer?

Thanks for the pics, guys. You see how mine (in the pic I posted) is different from yours? The side things arent quite as long, so it wont bolt up underneath it. I definitely ordered the right one, called the company to confirm the model number on the box with the one for a blazer, it is correct.
Anyone see something I dont in how Im going to mount this? I wont be very happy if I just spent a few hundred bucks on some useless metal tubes.

Re: Anyone have a grill/brush guard on their blazer?

This is my Sonoma with the grille guard. Same body style. I have the bumper mounted style. There are 2 bolts on top and then 2 on the bottom that hold it on. I had mine installed at a shop and they wired my lights and everything, but I've had it off a couple times to replace my head lights and stuff and it is not a big deal at all to put on one for the first time. They also have frame mounted grille guards that supposedly can take more abuse but all I wanted was somewhere to mount my lights so it served the purpose for me. In the last picture the yellow arrows are the 4 mounting points for that one.

Here is a good picture of pretty much my exact grille guard. At the bottom there are 2 holes in each side. My kit came with little metal peices that bolt to that and then made up the difference to where it had to bolt up.

Candycane, that guard looks to be the same style as mine. Can I see a bigger pic with the arrows?

The black one I posted is a smittybilt. I will try to resize the picture. It wasn't that small last night. I will repost it.

Re: Anyone have a grill/brush guard on their blazer?

HELLO
as for the sunviser, yes it does help alot with the sun glare. its made by Lund. they have 2 styles to choose from . the one i have is a more sleek design for the new type blazers. the one i have had no lights on it. they want an extra $100 for the thier lighted viser.I put on my own led lights, each light has 14 individual leds and are made by Maxima, with a lifetime warrenty.
As for the brush-grille gard, its made of stainless steal .it took 2 guys to install at around 4 hrs time.its bolted on the frame with 4 bolts ,2 on top of the frame and 2 on the bottom of the frame ,very sturdy. I had it on my truck 3 weeks and hit a deer at 65mph .Amazingly,i had no damage to the truck or grille gard.Hit it dead center of the gard. its made by Smittybilt at a cost of around $800.
