First ticket 2 weeks into having license

Since everyone else was telling storys, I decided to enlighten you all with mine.
I had just got my license, 2 weeks before this occured, driving a Gold Ford Taurus. Yeh that's right, my car is an old manmobile*getting a new car this summer >) it was my bro's* but anyway. I was at a spirit week thing for my school and a bunch of people decided to head over to K-Mart to get some silly string and spray paint to fish the frosh. I left, on the way over, I was following this POS red Accord, which my friend was driving. He was driving reaally fast, so i kept up. Dumb thing to do in the city. I get picked up on the radar going 46 in a 30, my friend was going 65. The cop was sitting in a CHURCH parking lot, totally lame. But, he turned on his sirens when we turned onto the main highway, amazingly my friend pulled over because he thought it was him, AND he had 4 people in his car. Which would have been a big no-no!
Anyway, i stop, thinking it's him then this cop walks up to my window as my friend leaves and im like WTF!! Yeh total crap job right there. I ended up paying 130 total for the ticket and traffic school to get it off my record. Since then, I was pulled over again, but this time for going 5 over at about 11 on a friday night, I got off with a warning. Truely being nice to the cop does make a difference, he was a dick at first, but after many yes sirs, no sirs, and even having an invalid insurance card no ticket. Thank god. BUt this cop did follow me home and tell my parents about it, which was a total bust.
Anyone else care to share more fun-fun storys?

Why would his friend have to pay some of it, his friend didn't make him speed, they were both in the wrong

You got off easy. Where I live, any moving violation in the first 6 months is an immediate suspension.

Well since I live in the boonies I know where to go not to get caught, although I have to admit I've done really stupid stuff like go 75 down main street and 60 in a 15 (drive through zoo) and 120 down a back hick road. never been caught so it's all good.

Re: First ticket 2 weeks into having license

Dont think living in a secluded area will let you get away its actually easier fot the cops to get, one example my friend was doing 90 in a 50 passed a cop well 2 min from his house the cop catches back up to him he starts to go down some backroads finally looses them by this point he has 5 cops on him he hides the car in a housing development, locks it and hides in the woods doesnt see the cops for about a half hour. So gets in his car heads back to a main road and got caught doing 60 in a 50, ends up the same cop that passed him earlier so he got busted for 60 and 90 in a 50. Remember you can outrun the cop but you cant outrun the radio.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
