Which montero? There are many and each with different pro's/con's. Alot will also depend on your expected usage.

Re: Thining about buying new montero
actually it is a brand new one, it has the 3.8 v6 and i know that older ones are still very much alive on the road, and it leads me to believe that they are good quality vehicles, i also had a 95 galant that i prety much drove to the ground 175k miles on it and it still drive good, so it a concern as any persistent issues with the new ones.

Re: Thining about buying new montero
Unfortunately, I don't know much yet about the newest models.
Since my primary use is off road trail riding & rock crawling the last model worth considering for this kind of use is either the Gen II differential locker equiped SR models (94-96) or quite possibly Gen 2.5 models (97-2000). The Gen III's came out in 2001 in the US (2000 globally). My understanding is that this will be the last year they will be offered because Mitsubishi isn't selling enough Montero's here. |

Good luck with your search. You may want to ask on some other mitsubishi 4x4 forums because there isn't so much traffic on this one. |
