95 Cavalier Heater

This has happened in this 95 cavalier and my previous cavalier, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Only maximum fan setting works, all other settings just turn it off completely.

Re: 95 Cavalier Heater

could be the blower motor resister has gone bad, Sorry I cannot help you on the location it could be on the firewall under the hood or possibly up under glove box , that is where it is on my 2000 sunfire . resister was right beside blower motor . JUst did mine last week. I was told by dealer that this is a common problem on any make of vehicle. Ask at a parts store or dealer about location. dealer can probably bring diagram up on computer. just my

On the 95 the blower motor resistor is located in back of the blower motor on a small circuit board. You might have to take out the blower motor to find the wires leading to the resistor board, folow them to the connector on the board. Unnscrew it and pop the board out. A new one costs about $30.00. It controls the 2 lower speeds on the blower.
