Hi guys, heres just a few outdoor pics as requested, after the slight set
back with the knife incident a few days ago the front end has been resprayed and is now in the process of wet sanding it. The roof and the rest of the car has been wet sanded and has had 1 pass of coarse cutting compound, im pretty happy with the shine but once i run through with a pass of fine cutting compund and wax the shine will get get better and the whole polishing process will be complete. ![]() ![]() As you can see this colour has fine golden mica flakes through it, and gives you slight colour variations when held in different angles. ![]() Thanks again for the feedback and encouragement. |

Re: Fujimi Veilside MR2 SW20 In Progress
Hi Guys! I dont know if anyone can remember this project,I started it 8 months ago but i had to put it on ice since i was traveling around the world. Anyway im back home and im determined to finish this project.
Its time to do some work to the bottom lip spoiler. As usual the resin parts of this kit seems to be giving me hassles. I had to put some styrene sheets on both sides of the lip spoiler since both sides were uneven. It was a quick fix but it had to be done since it looked unbalanced. ![]() After it was primed and painted SMS carbon decal was applied to the lip spoiler. It was tricky to do since there were a lot of complex curves however after sometime it turned out good.I had fun trying to line up the direction of the carbon weave. ![]() Now it was time to give the dash some more carbon treatment, the front lip spoiler was a walk in the park when it comes to laying down the carbon decal. The dash board had a lot of odd angles and making the weave all go the same direction was pretty tricky. ![]() ![]() The interior was airbrushed Tamiya flat red, still needs to be flocked and seats detailed. Here is a sneak peak with the interior inside the car. ![]() Last but not least some more carbon has been layed down on the hood and clear coated.Heres the finished result.Body work is 90% there its still requires to be polished down and the rear wing sorted out.... Im still undecided if im going to use the kit supplied veilside wing or an idea that im toying around at the moment. ![]() So im back at it and will be posting regular updates time permitting.Glad to be working on models again since its been a while. Feedback, suggetions, questions welcome. Thanks for looking |

Nice, i almost forgot where this build went, the front lip looks flawless. Great detail on the interior too. How many pieces of cf did u use on the lip?

Re: Fujimi Veilside MR2 SW20 In Progress
1st time I've read this thread (sorry) and you are doing a grand job of it.
Sort of scan read most of it, so sorry If i missed it, but are you using the white wheels, or some Chrome Veilside style side ones. |

Re: Fujimi Veilside MR2 SW20 In Progress
MidMazar : Well ive been dying to get back and finished this kit off. It makes a difference when you are enjoing the build process, even though i had a lot of fit issues with the body earlier on. I used 8 pieces of carbon decal to wrap around the front lip spoiler. The dash took alot more but i just love working with this stuff. The actual application was a pain but the extra effort makes a hell of a lot of difference.
Wheelin75R , Hiroboy : Im yet undecided if im going to keep the TE37's white. i must admit the white TE37's suits the car's interior and exterior. However i was thinking of painting them gold or bronze with chrome outer lip. Steve your the master JDM cars what do you think? i just wish i had some pegasus outer rings to go on these wheels. Thanks again for the feedback and encouragement guys,Im just dying to see this baby finished. |
