Question 98 Chevy cavelier acting like it's running out of gas

I have a 98 Chevy cavelier and when I am driving it goes just fine for about 5 to 10 minutes and then starts to cut out like I am running out of gas but then kick in again then cut out again and so on! Really jerky when it does it and I have know Idea where to start. Could it be the filter or is not that easy?? I just drove to Reno and back a total of 1100 miles and it died when we got there but no other problems on the trip and then a week later this all started.
