95 Plymouth Neon

My car is giving me problems some times when i push the accelerator it will not go and slows down like it is running out of gas. The check engine light code is 33 which is for A/C clutch. But don't understand how ac could cause this problem with acceleration. And don't know how to fix. Have seen the acceleration problem on several sites but no answer as to how to fix. Have checked fuel pressure. and is good.

Re: 95 Plymouth Neon

apey fox... Welcome

Sound like two problems or one connected to another HUH?

At WOT (peddle to the metal) the A/C clutch is supposed to disengage.

Try pulling the A/C relay in the power distribution box just behind the battery. This breaks the problem in half. Maybe a second problem too.

The code is for the relay circuit. Does it only do this when you have the A/C on? If so, replace the relay and you should be good to go.

It does it when A/C is off and even when it was unhooked. Does it when engine is cold and when warm both now.
Thanks for the info.
