Start

I have a 1987 cherokee pioneer. its running good, but.Could anybody tell me why it takes so long to start it either cold or hot?

it could be of many different reasons. Fuel Pump diaphram leaking, Bad Plugs, Choke screwed up. there are many

Exactly how long does it take? My '88 Laredo takes about 4-5 secs to start when cold (considering cold in Southern California is 50deg).

If you search the forum, you'll find that a few seconds seems pretty normal for these old buckets.

thanks "ESeven", I suspected the choke, since the plugs are new and gapped right. they're good,you should see it in the snow of NJ.you know,....its a Jeep thing.....
