96 neon engine swap

I know this is a common topic but this is my first visit. I have a 96 neon 2.0SOHC that makes a great door stop. The car itself is sound with the exception of a rainwater leak in the trunk. I'd like to swap engines and need a definitive list of what will fit. I understand a 2.4 from a Stratus or Caravan is almost a straight swap. What years? Will the auto tranny fit as well? Also, can someone who hasn't torn down a motor since his 1971 Plymouth Valiant Scamp with a 225 do this? (Man that was a great car). It's a 4th car so I'm in no hurry. Thanks, Joe.
