I have replaced the front brake pads on my 89 cherokee.I have bled the brakes also. The brake pedal goes almost to the floor. I was told I needed to have brakes adjusted by way of the rear end of the jeep. Is this something I can do myself?

Re: brakes
Welcome to AF Steven
Some further questions on your brake problem. Was the pedal low before you changed the pads? Does the pedal feel higher and firmer after you pump the pedal several times? There might just be air still in the system. Sometimes it can be difficult to remove it. The rear brakes (drum type) have self-adjusters. They should adjust every time you apply the brakes when you backup. They can be manually adjusted if the self-adjusters don't work but then there might be some problem that needs to be fixed. JD |
