How do I test the oil light on 92 lumina 3.1
I'm trying to figure out why my oil light won't come on when I turn on the key. All of the other ones run the usual self test when the key is turned on but not the oil light. The bulb is good because I swapped it with another one, they both worked in another location. Is there a way to ground or put power to the wires coming off the sending unit to activate the light?
Thanks John |

Grounding the lead to the sender should light the light with the key on.

Re: How do I test the oil light on 92 lumina 3.1
Seems like I remember some issue with the pigtail for the oil sender wiring going bad on some GM's of that general era, but I can't remember what the issue was. I do know I replaced a few of them.
With three leads, it's gonna be shunting the correct two together to get a light, I would think. Trying to remember why there's three wires. One is all you need for a light, unless you've got a low pressure interlock to shut down ignition or fuel if pressure falls.
