Replacing water pump - 1993 Grand Am 3.3
Hello all
The water pump has been making a lovely whining sound that I was told was the bearings wearing out. I wanted to replace it before it goes out, of course, and wanted to do that myself, rather than pay $300. Is there anyone who has done this, and just how tough a job is it? |

Well, try this link, it will show ya the way, and I sure some other members can better advise ya on the "real" situation you face to pull it, but at least the link is a start.

Yeah I have the Haynes book, so I was afraid that I'd have to remove the engine mount. This may be a little over my head

Which motor do you have? on the quad motors, you have to take the exhaust off to get at the bolts for the water pump. On the v6 motors all you have to do is take the belts off unbolt the pulley and unbolt the pump, it comes right out.

Thanks skibum1111, that sounds easy enough, even for me!
