Le Mans gone by

I'm sad I missed the years the Japanese were contenders. The GT-One in '98, and the Skyline GT-R in '95. The NSXs in '94. Ahhh...

Does anyone publish them on video tape?

Where on the web can I look for prior year's results, rankings and pictures?

You want to talk about Japanese Le Mans contenders? What about the Mazda 787? The only Japanese entry, as well as the only rotary powered vehicle, to ever win!

Well I guess I tipped my hand towards the LMP cars with my reference to the GT-One, but I really get a kick out of watching the GT class race. But now, it's all Vettes, Vipers and 911s. Not that those are bad, , I'd just like to see some japanese cars in the mix.

The 787 is totally bad-ass, BTW. I was super-jazzed to see they put it in GT3!

DVSNCYNIKL, shut up.

I found a cool QTVR 3D thing from a Japanese car show for the new Skyline, but the shot here is right next to the GT-R LM pictured at the top of this thread.

I agree with Mazda. It was the first japanese car to win the 24 hr race. It has a 4 rotor engine!

Mazda Winner

Yes the Mazda is the only Japanese entry to win Le Mans. Had the pleasure to hear about the win and the 24 from Johnny Herbert. He said that it was a rough ride, but the 4-rotor was good for some neat flames at night.:frog: :flamer:
