Erkle's Car

Isettas are so sweet. Isn't that the car Erkle used to drive around on that TV show (I forgot the name of the show)?

They're micro, I saw one at a the concours D'Ellegance and it was smaller than I ever imagined, the owner said he actually drove it there, just not on i95. I don't know what he's afraid of, didn't Erkel have an airbag in his?! :smoker2:

Re: Erkle's Car

lol yeah but he had like the best car on the show, the only other good car was the car that eddie is working on in the shows opening. I think its like a charger or something like that.

Re: Erkle's Car

The name is spelled URKEL, Steve Urkel!

Isetta was an Italian scooter manufacturer that moved into cars, sort of, with this vehicle.

BMW's factory ended up in East German territory after the war (the East Germans made "EMWs" for many years with RED and white Roundel emblems).

Starting almost from scratch, BMW bought rights and tooling from Isetta to make their version of the bubble car - it helped keep the company alive until the 1500 came along in the early 60's.
