moter swap questions

ok, i have a 98 s 10 std cab, for graduation my grandpa is willing to buy me a small block, i was thinking 350 and he said why not a 383 or 400, i know all moters that are sbc will fit, which ones will be more reliable and which ones are easyer to fix, ive owned a 350 b4 and loved it, also, seince i have a 98, could i switch the distrubutor from an older moter into the new power pack style? altemetly im looken for a 96 or newer lt1, but if that fails whats another good route to go?

I knew that you were full of crap. about putting a 350 in a s10 in 20 hours. How i know. You would not be asking what type of engine is the most reliable. Plus the 383 and the 400 is a small block but the angle, width and height of the 383 and 400 are total diferent than the 350..
They are bigger and wider and harder to install because you'll have to cut and modify the engine bay to get the headers to fit that is how I know that you are full of it.
I have 17 years of doing this. so come clean and I'll help you with any engine install in an s-10.

Re: moter swap questions

we droped a 350 lt 1 into my cousins 89 s 10 in 20 hours, this didnt include the shaving of handles and the accesories, it was just the moter with obdI and a carb setup, nothing more... and i know a 383 and 400 are larger, but the mounts still fit, i admit i need help if i do the 383 or 400, im also going to use a mpfi so it will take me some time longer to do the truck, you were talking total rebuild of truck, i was saying from 4.3 in a first gen to a 5.7 carb... there is a lot more work involved with this one i know, i have an 89 civic to drive during the build... i also plan on useing a power pack over a dizzy because it will fit easyer... all help is appreciated, and it was a pain in the ass, im doing this one on my own because after the blazer swap my cousin vouched he would never do it again... so yes if you have some helpful advice it is greatly appreciated... and my grandpa is a certified machanic seince wwII when he did this stuff on the shermen tanks, even if it takes a hammer IT WILL FIT

You are a moderator in 5 forums and now you have 17 years of experience.

Is this the experience you have to have to be this arrogant and obnoxious.
