I got a 96 pathfinder SE, not really hooked up except for all xenon lights and two 12 inch subs powered by a 1600 watt amp. I got a problem though, a couple of days ago, my emergency brake light came on the dash even when my brake was down, and now won't go out. Can't figure it out. If anyone got any ideas or suggestions thanks in advance!!
P.S How do you take the fog lights out? thanks. |

Quick test.With the light on ,pull your hand brake.Watch the brake light.If the switch for handbrake is good,the light will faintly flicker as you pull handbrake.If it does check the fluid in your brake master cylinder.If ok, check the float in the master cylinder resevoir.Sometimes the float sticks.If all is ok, disconnect the sensor{resevoir} and see if light goes out{bad sensor}

Re: Emergency Brake prob!
Have your battery and charging system checked. On most Nissans if the alternator isn't charging or if the internal voltage regulator is bad (overcharging) the brake warning light will come on. Also, have you checked your brake fluid level? A low fluid level will also cuase this light.

Correction.If the alternator malfunctions the Battery,ABS,and Brake warning lamps come on.{systems go to failsafe due to low supply voltages.If just brake light is on it's that warning bulbs circuit only.
