2005 Tacoma front shock/suspension knock/noise
Anyone else having this problem... Anytime I hit a bumb I get a tap/knock sound. Mostly on the right front, but it happens on the left front as well...and sometimes it even sounds like it is coming from the back. It seems to have gotten progressively worse over the last couple of days...
2005 D-cab Long bed Tacoma 4X4 --- 2 weeks old Thanks, Logan |

It may be the cab mount bolts. You in a cold area? On toyotanation.com go to "truck forum" and there is a few posts about this, you may find more info there!

No ping-pong sound
Thanks MWebber, now I got something else to be worried about, but the sound they describe doesn't fit. Mine is more like a knock, tap, or even a clunk sound...
Thanks, Logan |

Sorry! Hehehehe, If you hang around that site you will find a few common issues with the new Tacomas. Watch your paint, that is a big subject....

I have a 99 Tacoma and have experienced the exact problem you describe. I noticed the noise about a year ago. Clunking in front suspension when going over bumps or into dips. Dealer said it was shock/strut (mcphereson), and replaced. That was 6 months ago, and guess what? The noise is back now!
Hope you have better luck than I did. |
