Re: 1/12th Scale 1957 Chevy Bel-Air (WIP)

A verbal (err typed) update, no pics because with my hand, the pictures are blurry

The radiator is painted.

The firewall is in the process of being painted. My color choice for this vehicle is red/white. My red color choice is Boyd Red. Now I painted the firewall with boyd red, and I am unhappy with the first coat. I know it takes many caots to get the color you want, but for some reason it came out spotty, with blobs of paint everywhere. Now with most paint, it would flow nicely, but Im not sure if this is quick drying paint D: Later tonight ill find out i guess.

Here is the body primed and wet sanded. Recently I painted it, but due to dust, it needs to be wet sanded once again and painted. Pictures of finished body when its done =P

I also chose Red/White combination for the interior, pictures to come when painting starts.

Its pretty late, but I finished the chasis. Anything you think should be a different color, etc, tell me. I love crit, Im trying to make this thing as detailed as possible without milling anything or buying anything extra.

Hard to see because of the flash, but all the bolt heads are silver on the bottom of the chasis. The rims are cragar s/s, which actually came with the kit. one of the main reasons im not using the original wheels are because they only gave me 3 tires with whitewalls. (wtf)

For the body, Sunday afternoon the body was wetsanded then given a fresh coat of paint, and this red is amazing, I have no idea what number or whatever it is, but its called rich red. I dont really use model paint on my models, i use car paint so D:

I think im the only person on the face of the earth that could mess up such an easy procedure, but I took the front seats, and layed down too heavy of a coat, so it ran. It was sad, such an easy task and i fked it up. Anyways, thats in the brake fluid, and needs a scrub, then it can be repainted. In case I didnt mention, the interior is gonna be a red/white combo. I chose the white with red accent combonation as well (white carpet/headliner with red leather pieces).

Take that and reverse the colors, thats my plan.

Re: 1/12th Scale 1957 Chevy Bel-Air (WIP)

I put on the tail lights and the rear Chevy logo, but i dont think i need a pic for such a small update (correct me if im wrong ) Im currently working on the interor

I masked off the inner parts of the seats, and sprayed red, only to find out that it seeped underneith, and overspray got under my tape so dot3 it was and I resprayed it. Its currently sprayed with a bright white, and awaiting further progress. I really dont want to brush it, but it seems the only way to get the results i need (no seepage or overspray and straight lines). Any comments would be more then accepted.
