2000 durango starts but wont stay running

Hey I have a 2000 durango sport. When I start the car the engine cranks but will not start until I step on the gas pedal. I can keep the engine running when I step on the gas, but when I let go of the gas the engine just dies. I need help and dont know where to even begin to look. I don't think it's the battery because all the lights turn on just the engine doesn't start.

On the left side of the throttle body just there should be a little hex bolt (just below the spring) that adjusts the throttle...just let it out a little to increase the gas...and if you cant find the little bolt...it prolly wiggle out

I couldn't find what you were talking about. I checked it out today. I also was looking into it on a repair manual and it said that i can't change the idle on a 5.2l engine.

Yeah the idle and everything is computer controlled on these things. If you're good with a programmer you could probably do it...

i would try to clean your idle air control valve first.. also check for any codes in the pcm...You also may have a bad tps, ect... you need to check for proper voltages of the sensors

I had the exact same problem with my 2000 SLT. Took it to the dealership, they put it on the tester and the problem was the battery. Even though the lights came on and the engine turned the battery was on its last legs. They dropped a new battery in and the problem was solved. I couldn't hardly believe it.
