Oh Boy

Today is not looking good at all. My truck will not start. It cranks over, and will continue to crank over until i let go of the key, but it won't start. I poured gas into the intake and still no luck getting it to even fire. I don't think there is any spark. I just drove the truck 30 minutes earlier. Is the alternator out? I really need some help because I need this truck tonight!

Re: Oh Boy

Was it running normally when you parked it? Do you remember if it was charging when you shut it off? Did you quickly trace all your wiring? Did the check engine light come on so you can get some codes?

Re: Oh Boy

It ran fine when I parked it. The check engine light seems to be on, but when I do the key thing to check the codes, nothing happens.

Re: Oh Boy

Oh, and I checked the wires too. Could the plugs have gone bad and I just didn't notice?

Re: Oh Boy

Nothing happens? That makes sense. I bet the computer is fried. No codes, and no spark. Has to be the computer...

Re: Oh Boy

The plugs wouldn't all go bad at the same time. Even if they did, the motor should still fire up, even if it's only running on 6 or 7.

Re: Oh Boy

Hey Bleed, you not going to believe this. It was a friggin "Engine Control" fuse under the hood. 30 amp fuse about the size of an ammo box. I don't know what made me decide to check the fuse box under the hood, but I took a plug wire off, put another plug in it, and wasn't getting any spark. Then I was going back into the truck to try again and for some reason I opened the fuse box and the first fuse I pulled was blown. Replaced it with the "Fog Lamps/Horn" fuse until I went to Auto Zone and payed about $2.50 for a new fuse. Starts up everytime and runs fine. Thanks for the help. I still feel like an idiot. Oh, and I got to use my truck last night. Thank God, it was very important to me.

Re: Oh Boy

Pity. I smelled the smell of a "desperate man". It could have been only one thing.

Re: Oh Boy

That's alright, you don't have to tell us what his name is. We know what's going on, lol.
