Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
Joeham, hope you don't mind me jacking your thread, but I think there is no point in opening a new one for the question I'm asking:
I'm going to buy an airbrush, and after reading all the comments about the Iwata Revolution, I opted to buy that. But I've also read many people recomends Paasche products, so I was wondering if the VSR90- Gravity Feed is a good choice in the same price range.

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
for the same price, difinitly go with Iwata.
Paasche aren't bad, but I prefer Badger and Iwata way before.

Re: Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
Hello Pedro, I have heard that Paasche airbrush's are awesome. But for the same price range i would definitely go with the Iwata Revolution. Soo many people recommend it and as of now i haven't seen any negativity about it.
Well guys i bought a compressor yesterday at Sears. I actually ordered it since it wasn't in stock and the sales person told me "They just came out not soo long ago and everybody has been going crazy about them" I dont know that just made me want to get it even more. Its a Craftsman 150 PSI Compact Pancake Air Compressor with a 1.5 Gal tank. I bought it for 100 dollars (On Sale) and put a two year warranty on it just in case since im a starter.( http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes ) |

The Compressor is supposed to arrive here the 15th since it wasn't in stock. Until then i will just stare at my airbrush for half an hour everyday and read the hand book over and over and over again. Can't wait to have everything here!

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
Sorry to keep bringing this thread up, but I have a couple of questions
I've read in the dixieart website that this airbrush doesn't come with a hose. I do have a Badger 250 (I call it aircrapper ), and I use the hose that came with it. My question is: will that hose fit the Iwata, or I will have to buy a new one/adaptor?Oh, and another thing: The Iwata Revolution CR sprays widths that go from 1/8" to 1/2" with 0.5 mm screw-in nozzle/needle. I would love to be able to spray hairline to 1" or 2" wide lines. Is that range (1/8"-1/2") sufficient for our modelling purposes? Regards, Pedro. |

Im not too sure about the measurements since im a newbie also to this whole thing but im sure stephendeli and Vric know. Same with the Badger 250 hose being compatible to the Iwata, im not to sure but the Iwata one looks thicker. The Badger 250 really is crap ![]() Its ok if you keep bringing up this thread. Atleast we are not making new ones about the same thing! Feel free to post whatever your questions are ![]() Hope that helped. |

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
If I look a the image I have found about the Badger 250, you will need to buy a new hose.
as for the 1/2", you should be able to do 1" or a bit more with higher PSI and working more far from your work. but sure, the Iwata CR is designed to be a detailling airbrush.

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
You do have two options for the hose. Either buy an adapter(dixieatrs got them) or buy a new hose. If it was me I would buy the hose.
I dont think anyone here has to feel sorry about bringing this thread up. When I was researching for my airbrush here at AF, a thread like this would have helped alot. So this should be great reference for future airbrush buyers.

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
sure, for the money, you better get a nice brainded hose than an adapter for a plastic/rubber one

For the 2" lines though... good luck because the edge will be so mist that it won't do a nice job and you'll have to be very far from your surface to reach that and the paint will probably dry before reaching the surface resulting in a very grainny paint. The paint would have to be very dillued and the psi very high. But why a 2" line in modeling ?? Iwata CR are not spray guns !! For the hose connection, it depends. I already have a good hose (heavy duty braided air hose) for my Badger(s) and want to keep it so I go with the adaptor to convert to Iwata but if you have a nasty original Badger plastic hose that come with the spray cans... don't bother, go with a new hose. |

Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's
Thank you for your replies, guys! I've learnt alot with this whole thread, and I will keep bringing it back when I have more questions.
A 2" wide line was just an example. I find 1/2" a little too small, that's why I asked .About the hose...yes, mine is that plastic one that came with the "aircrapper" 250 I guess I will order a good one (braided). Again, thank you! Regards, Pedro. |
