Re: 94 Lumina - replacing bulb for HVAC controls

OK, so I assume the other bulbs that light the whole control are 12V also. I do have a 12V drill, that I will have with me. Good idea! I can run wires from it. As far as using the source that would light the fan position, I cant since the car wont have power (junk yard).

Re: 94 Lumina - replacing bulb for HVAC controls

Since I didn't know which of the 3 connectors the lighting was on, much less which wires, I couldn't use the battery test method. Also the drill has 4 conductors so I didn't know which to use. It would have taken forever to figure out the correct combination between all those.
Regardless I finally found one that worked. BTW, it's the black connector that has the wires for the lighting.
Chevy much have used very poor bulbs for this climate control. Out of about 15-16 controls that I tried, only two of the controls would light up more than half the unit (and the one I got still has 2 of the 6 bulbs burned out). A couple others had probably 1-2 bulbs working and the rest had 0 of the 6 working.
The part is made in Mexico.
