Re: 968 club sport?
Never had the pleasure myself..... I've driven one with the M030 package, and I can only imagine. I personally wish the sport had made an appearance here in the colonies. Seems like a great balance of performance and comfort.

Re: 968 club sport?
The club sport never had any comfort, and is a drag getting in and out every day. The sport is the best of both worlds and must be the best option. How come some cars nerver make it over there? 959?

Re: 968 club sport?
It's a combination of two things.... Emissions and safety. Especially with some models i.e. 959. Porsche was already losing money on the deal, and safety certification would have required destroying several in crash tests (so I've been told.)
With the emissions questions, some models had blank spots in the US. 930 in the late 70s In some cases, we just got a version that didn't have the same numbers as the Euro "real deal" i.e. The 924... The US version was truly underpowered at the start. The Sport model was ONLY in the UK. I'm not sure why, but I would love to see what they are all about.

Re: 968 club sport?
I dont want to be rude but, i've seen some of the cars over there and ? how did they pass tests? maybe its just me, but the 959 was and still is one of the most advanced cars on the road, never mind safe.

Re: 968 club sport?
America has emissions requirements that would have been too costly to adapt for back then.
Now, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is allowing those cars into the US as long as you can update them to meet the emissions requirements of that model year. IE an 87 959 must meet the emissions requirements of 1987. Bumper requirements have to be met, they must pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) inspection, but crash tests aren't necessary.
