Headlights won't turn off

Help!! My 1990 Acclaim is posessed!! I was driving along when I noticed my high beam indicator was on. Not so weird except for the fact that my headlights were shut off. When I got home however and turned the car off, the headlights remain on as well as the high beam indicator. The only way I can shut them off is to disconnect the battery. Any help to resolve this one would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Headlights won't turn off

your high beam switch is stuck in the flash-to pass selection. Probably you could excersise the switch and it'll go away, but if not, it should just be the hi-beam switch, or you have a melted wiring harness.....
Let's hope it's not that....!

Good luck,

Re: Re: Headlights won't turn off

Thank you for your input... I try and work the switch if not take it apart.

That's quite a name...

I used to have a slant six in an old dodge... it was bulletproof..

Re: Headlights won't turn off

I'm actually quite insane about the slant six! I'd put it in a new car if I could. definitely bullteproof. I've Had at least one slant six car or truck all my life, including my parent's cars when I was a kid!
I have one of the latest and last ('82-'89) slants in my 400k+ mile '86 truck, and its still going as strong as ever!

My project (hobby) car is a '69 dart that's a slant six car right now too.

Gotta love anything that lasts that long!
