600hp?
Some people are saying with the simple 'change the chip' the skyline can put out 600hp. Ya right. I am not saying it is not true, the story is way too far fetched and is the result of legend status of the skyline. Althought it is a very great engine indeed, 600hp from a stock rating of 276, give it 300, is just pure BS to me. If I am wrong please correct me with evidence.

It is complete and utter bullshit.
The factory intercooler won't flow it effeciently. Factory injectors won't flow it. Factory turbos won't flow it. Factory cam's won't produce it.

And now they are saying to me that it is super restrictive exhaust, and the turbos arent spooled for maximum efficiency. I guess thats what happens if you watch too much FnF and hang out with ricers too much. But my guess that the stock engine could put out maybe just a bit past 350hp with some minor changes.

Re: 600hp?
yeah i'm fairly sure the stock engine could put 350hp without any internal changes. exhaust, intake, boost controller and headers or extractors. i'm pretty sure you'd get mighty close to the vicinity of 350hp just on that.

You can get around the 435hp mark by changing the exhaust, filters, and remapping or changing the ecu. If you want more you will need to change the front mount as it is only good for about that much. You want more you will need to do injectors, and turbos.

Re: Re: 600hp?
Are you talking wheels or flywheel?
I KNOW the stock intercooler is good for AT LEAST 400 at the wheels.... My dyno is in the sticky..... ...and you might want to talk to Tyndago about it....I seem to remember him sending me an email regarding someone who posted over 500 with just a boost controller and fuel.... Quote:

Re: Re: Re: Re: 600hp?
I was talking about the intercooler.
I said you needed to add fuel ...and depending on which model GTR you have, the stock turbo's can handle 500hp (as in the Nur, NISMO, or N1 models....not sure about the LM's). There was an R32 in Seattle on stock turbines that ran an 11.81@120 mph on 1.5bar. 120mph means at least 400hp at the wheels. Probably not very smart...but possible. Quote:
