Hey hows it going
I currently own a spec v (sentra) and am thinking about buying an 03 xterra. Just wanted to come to this board and do a little bit of research on the car. I was curious as to what people are paying for them currently ( I am looking at the either 4x4 or 4x2 XE auto tranny) thank you for your input |

its kind of a waste to buy a 4x2, unless you never plan on offroading, never driving in the snow or ever leaving the pavement.
theres a few around here that have 03's that should be able to help you with pricing. good luck.

Wouldn't buying a 2WD Xterra be like buying a boat with no bottom?
Seriously, don't waste your money on a 2WD. If you want a 2WD a station wagon will give you far superior performance, , superior handling, better gas mileage, and lower operating costs. Not only that, but you get better resale value with the 4x4 and it has the ability to go offroad. The Xterra is absolutely a horrible vehicle for driving on snow and ice in 2WD and not even as good as a FWD car in the snow and ice. It only accels (with 4WD) in deep snow, which isn't what you normally deal with on the road. If you've ever driven a 2WD pickup truck on ice you'll understand...the performance is just as bad. They don't drive well in the rain either and you can't use 4WD just for rain. Basically you'd have a slow, top heavy Suburban Useless Vehicle. Get the 4x4! Oh yeah; it's a truck...

There are plenty of car pricing sites on the web that should help you out.
Why not buy a Murano? 250hp, and 4-wheel drive (or AWD can't remember). Although the Infiniti one looks cooler. |

Don't even consider a 4x2 if you get any kind of bad weather. It should be a nobrainer if you live in Chicago. Plus like people have said, you'll have terrible resale value if you don't get the 4x4. |
