Question Making the S14 an S15

So once again we are here, envious of our Japanese friends, perhaps even spiteful, for not exporting the S15 Silvia. We all know the reasons why, but STILL it is upsetting. At this point, we dont even care if they dont give us the SR20DET--engine transplants are no longer a challenge. My question to you is, how close can we make our leftover U.S. 1995-98 S14s into S15s? The front end is solved: fenders, hood, bumper, and headlights can be directly replaced without cutting.

The rear end is another story... Is it possible to reproduce that flared edge on the rear fenders of the S15? Is there ANY way to get the new separated taillights & trunk onto an S14? Or is the sheetmetal far too different? Has the C-pillar changed too much? Hah, maybe it would be easier and cheaper to import an unfinished chassis from a Nissan factory in Japan.

u can do anything with money, just bring it to a bodyshop and you can tell them to do whatever, you can get a custom widebody kit or whatever. my friend had a 96 celica and he managed to make tha rear look exactly like a supra, so just bring couple of bills to a trusted bodyshop and have whatever you want done

Huh?!?!?!

1) S15 Silvia had the same body construction as the S14 Silvia, which had the same body construction as the S14 240SX, which is a unibody STEEL frame with STEEL panels.

2) The S15 Silvia had McPherson struts up front with a multilink suspension in the back. Yes, the design in the back is similar to the Skyline, but if you want to compare the Silvia's suspension is more shared with the Z32 (Fairlady/300ZX) than the Skyline's (which uses multilink at all four corners).

get yourself the front subframe off a S15, The Engine, tranny, driveshaft, brakes, suspension.....everything..... put that on your S14.

Take the rear subframe from a S15 and put it on the S14, I hear it fits ok on a s13 but requires some customization on the s14 as the 14 is the widest S chassis car. Use the rear suspension(supposed to stiffen up the rear a lot vs prior models) brakes, Diffrential, axels, spindles.

This takes care of the mechanical shit, then you need to cut off some weight off that heavy ass s14 pig...

I don't think you could ever make the rear look like a S15. The dimensions are totally different and different angles. Even with tons of money it still wouldn't look the same. If you sat down with the best body shop guy with a million dollar budget, I bet he could replicate the S15 for you, this would require money, tools, expertise.... not all shops have the required tools and expertise for something like that. This isn't bondo-ing on some R33 tail lights on a Prelude

Other than it being longer and wider and visual almost completely different yes i'd say it has the same body construction...........
