I think this is a pretty worthy poll, it really proposes a question that gearheads will probally choose one side, and people in Off topic will hit another.

Your missing the poll part of your poll. I think it would depend on my mood at the moment. Most of the time, I would go for the car, but if I was in a mood where I was sick of everything around here, then the vacation.

Comprimise, car, AND vacation! Go for a road trip, take your baby to a tuner! You could get some head work done with all the money you'd save!
