Short Shifter help, whats good and what is involved
I need a short shifter bad now. I was looking all over the internet and there are like 500 brands and types. Which ones are good, which ones are reliable and which ones are a decent price. I looked on ebay and they gave those "type-r" ones. I know it isn't really type r butthey look the same as ony of the other ones. Is there more than just a new stick with an angle in it and a ball at the end or are there bushings/brackets too?
thanks guys *chris |

ex: i installed a DCSports Short Shifter on my 99 Ex. I would recommend a "name" brand for the simple fact that I have heard the cheaper brands heat up and snap. When installing the short shifter i would recommend changing the stock rubber bushings to urethane bushings. Just be prepared because its honestly a bitch to install....its easy and straight forward....but its a pain because you have reach over the heat shield of the exhaust if you don't drop the exhaust down.
If you need photos of the install let me know. -J |

don't get a B&M unless you want to break your back reaching up to shift into 3rd...i made this mistake, and i'll be paying for it until i decide to stop being lazy and install a new one...also, the new bushings do make a big diff...

If i'm not mistaken you can get them @ any autoshop......and I love my dc sports shortshifter...i couldn't be happier...i installed one from the crx since it has a curve in it unlike the one made for my 99.

I love my skunk2 dual bend. I would definitely spend the extra dollars on a better known brand. You get what you pay for
