2002 Chevy S-10 4X4 encoder motor

Hello All,
I just had the 4wd fail me on my S-10. I have read the TCCM trick and tried that one time and it worked. This time I didn't go there first. I had 4wd when I put it in neutral several times and heard the encoder motor fine. All of the sudden it quit. I then went to the TCCM did the cleanup and had the button lights look good. Now I found a blown fuse on the ATC under the hood. Replaced that and still no encoder motor.Did I damage this encode motor shifting it back and forth? I sure hope not.
